Gift Guide For Writers and Authors
The holidays are upon us and rumor has it that supply chain disruptions and labor shortages will make securing that “perfect gift” a real challenge. Smart shoppers are starting early—as in right now! If you’ve got someone on your list who is a writer or who simply loves books and words, this gift guide might help you out. But please remember this: I encourage everyone to shop local whenever possible this and every holiday season, so if these items give you ideas of things you can buy from a small business owner, an independent bookstore or a entrepreneurial friend or neighbor, DO THAT!.
Scarves
I recently gave my friends (and myself) customized infinity scarves with some quotes about friendship from literature. They loved them. These scarves are based on the same idea — one has quotes about mothers from literature (what a GREAT idea) and the other is a bookshelf design for the “nerdy booklovers.”
Short Stories
Give the gift of STORY by giving a subscription to One Story. One Story Inc. is an award-winning literary publisher committed to supporting the art form of the short story and the authors who write them. If you have a short-story lover on your list, this is a great idea. Each printed and mailed issue is just ONE STORY. I’ve loved my subscription and I’ve given it to others, as well. Books
Here are some of my favorite books to give as gifts to people who love to write:
Blueprint for a Book by Jennie Nash (this book was written by Author Accelerator Founder Jennie Nash and the Blueprint for a Book method is one of the main coaching methods I use with my fiction and nonfiction clients, although this book is for fiction writers).
A Whole Page of Gifts for Writers and Authors
If none of the above suit you, here’s an entire page of gifts for writers and authors.
